PRILIMINARY WORKS
Preliminary works such as construction of all roads, Buildings were completed. Main contractors: Penstock: M/s Giovanola Binny Ltd, Cochin Generator: Titovi Zavodi Litostroj, Yugoslavia
MACHINES
First Machine was put in to commercial operation on 09.05.1966.
Second Machine was put in to commercial operation 06.02.1968.
Third Machine was put in to commercial operation 23.05.1968

RENOVATION
After the completion of 52 years of successful running; Administrative sanction obtained for Renovation and Modernization of Sholayar Generators and Penstock for an amount of 229.54 crore vide B.O No 53/2010(GPC/RMU-SLR/63/09)dtd 05.01.2011
RENOVATION WORKS
Renovation works of Generator and allied parts were awarded to M/s YIBIN-FUYUAN-FLOVEL Consortium.
(W.O No 01/2015-16 dtd 30.06.2015 Renovation works of penstock was awarded to M/S PES Engineers W.O No. 01/2017-18 dtd 2017)
RENOVATION
Unit #3 had completed its renovation works on 16.03.2019. Unit #2 had completed its renovation works on 20.01.2020
Unit #1 had completed its renovation works on 05.10.2020
